Kiren Rockenstein focuses her practice on U.S. trademark prosecution, copyright registrations, intellectual property licensing and contract negotiation, drafting, and review across various industries.

Before beginning her legal career, Kiren worked as a research scientist and she moved from England to the United States in 2007 in order to pursue her postdoctoral career at the University of California, San Diego. During this time, Kiren developed an interest for working at the intersection of science and business to help translate academic research into industrial settings better suited to developing and commercializing that research. Kiren was involved with a number of biotech start-ups that spun out and advanced academic research. In 2011, Kiren joined the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, a non-profit, scientific research institute located in San Diego, where she worked to protect and commercialize intellectual property generated at the Institute.

Having worked with a number of start-ups and early-stage companies, Kiren has first-hand knowledge of the particular challenges and goals of entrepreneurs looking to start a new business or expand an existing one. When she relocated to Portland, Kiren joined an intellectual property firm, where she was heavily involved in intellectual property litigation and trademark protection and maintenance. Kiren continues to enjoy working with clients on the day-to-day business and legal aspects of starting and developing a business and helping them protect and enforce their intellectual property.
